U9 rugby team play fantastically well in All Hallows' tournament

The before photo...

What happened in between...

It started with a fantastic draw against a lively and industrious Taunton side which showed our team that they could compete with the best teams. Next up was a difficult game against a strong Kings Hall team which tested the team's resilience and after that, the boys went from strength to strength in the following games. Louis was a constant threat as he dived over for numerous tries, Joshua was constantly powering through the middle to draw defenders in for his team to exploit the spaces left and Isaac was always dangerous with ball in hand. Aryan proved he is a lean, mean tackling machine and Alex is as brave as a lion as he put his body on the line numerous times. Dominic jinked his way past defenders and made some try saving tackles when his team needed him most whilst Fabio's mazy runs set up lots of tries.

2 wins, 2 losses and a draw. Although, officially it is 5 draws as it was a friendly tournament.

There were knocks, a blood injury and lots of tired rugby players at the end but the team bonded magnificently and improved each game. Good luck to their next opponents if they continue to play with the same confidence and bravery.

Thank you to Mr Thompson for leading the team so well and a huge thank you to the parents, grandparents and siblings for their vocal support. I certainly appreciated the good company.

  1. None of the required weekend rest for this hard working lot! Hope all bruises healed ready for Monday's action.
